Marling is about 30 minutes by foot from the worls-famous spa town of Meran. It is situated on the sunny mountain slope of the Marling mountain and offers great views of Meran and the entire Etsch Velley with its vineyards and orchards. The following are some tips on how to travel to Marling.
By car
From the Reschen Pass: In Forst (Brauerei Forst / Forst brewery) just before Meran, turn right at the exit for Marling.
From the Brenner Pass via Bozen: Take the motorway exit Bozen Sud. Drive on the dual-carriage way MEBO in the direction of Meran until you see the exit sign for ‘Marling’. Follow the road across the bridge over the Etsch river in the direction of Marling (Marling Dorf).
From the Brenner Pass via Sterzing – Jaufen Pass / Timmelsjoch: Take the motorway exit Sterzing and drive along the main pass road to Meran. Cross the town and take the bridge over the Etsch river. Exit to your right into the village centre of Marling. The Jaufen Pass is open from April to October/November and the Timmelsjoch from June to September/October.
By Train/Bus
Train connections EUROCITY
The closest Eurocity station is in Bozen. From here, a train runs every hour to Meran (taxi stand). Every 30 minutes, there is a bus to Marling (line 12). One stop before you come to Meran, the train stops in Untermais/Maia Bassa. From here, you can get a bus (line 12) every 30 minutes to Marling.

BUS TRANSFER SERVICE from Munich: from Munich main station (arrival by train or flight) Arnulfstrasse, Airport Bus stop, every Saturday at 4.30 p.m. You have the possibility of catching a bus transfer service to Marling. Information and booking at the Tourist Board office in Marling, Tel: 0039 0473 447147, Fax: 0039 0473 221775 or mail to mail@marling.info The transfer service from Munich to Marling costs € 20 per person and can be paid in the bus. For organisational reasons, it is not necessary to book.
SÜDTIROL EXPRESS Swiss - Südtirol: From St. Gallen - Winterthur – Zurich, from 25th March to 28th October 2006, every Saturday, the Südtirol Express into the Meraner Land / Meran station. Price: Sfr. 160 Zurich - Meraner Land return (Sfr. 110 single trip). Children up to the age of 6 are free of charge. From 6 - 14 years: 50% reduction / Trip to: St. Gallen, Bahnhofpärkli 6.15 a.m. / Winterthur-Archplatz 7 a.m. / Zurich bus terminal 7.30 a.m. / Meran station 12.30 p.m. Return trip: Meran station 2.30 p.m. / Zurich bus terminal 8 p.m. / Winterthur - Archplatz 8.20 p.m. / St.Gallen, Bahnhofpärkli 9 p.m.
